The Reentry Resource Program, an initiative of the Education Justice Project at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, is supported by members across the country who are passionate about reentry justice. We work together to produce prison reentry and deportation guides. Members contribute to the initiative in various ways depending on their interests and skills.
Writing and Research Team
- Researching/writing on a topic they have specialized knowledge about
- Researching/writing on new laws or resources
- Contributing or soliciting photographs or illustrations
- Interviewing system-impacted individuals
Distribution and Outreach Team
- Contacting organizations who might be interested in using our guides with clients
- Mailing guides from our campus office to incarcerated individuals
- Coordinating special projects like our reentry toolkits and video series
All members
- Attending monthly meetings
- Participating in trainings
- Designing and delivering webinars
- Co-presenting at workshops and conferences
Advisory committee members (paid position for formerly incarcerated/deported individuals)
We value your personal experience with incarceration and reentry (or deportation) and the guidance you provide. In addition to any of the above activities that interest you, we welcome your thoughts on what important content you believe is currently missing or inadequately addressed in our reentry materials as well as information on advocacy opportunities in the community, ideas for trainings and other insights you can share as a system-impacted individual.
