    Thursday October 15, 2026, Danville Correctional Center, 10:30am - 3:30pm
  • Please complete this form if you are interested in attending the Thursday, October 15, 2026 open house at Danville Correctional Center under the auspices of the University of Illinois' Education Justice Project. You must be 18 years old.

EJP will provide transportation, leaving from campus and designated spots in Champaign and Urbana at 11:00am and returning at 3:30pm. We will offer an optional debrief session on campus from 3:30-4:00. We will be at the prison approximately between 12:00-2:00.

You might find it helpful to read our short guide, "What to Expect When Visiting Danville Correctional Center," as you decide whether to RSVP.

During the open house visitors will visit the prison's education building where they will sit in EJP classrooms and engage with EJP students and instructors.

Please note that the building is not accessible, as the classrooms are upstairs and there is no elevator. Water will be available throughout and food will be available during the break.

Space is limited. Please RSVP no later than Sunday, September 13.

**Important: Also by September 13, please also complete the one-page request for "clearance" to enter the prison. It is a secure form. Your information will be shared with the clearance administrator at Danville Correctional Center, who will share it with the relevant staff at the Illinois Department of Corrections.

We will keep individuals who RSVP informed about the status of their request to attend the open house.
